Ruffle Wreath

In an ideal world I would have had a 100% home-made Christmas.  As my husband says, gift giving is like a sport to me and I MUST WIN!!! I thoroughly enjoy finding the perfect thing for the people in my life.  Maybe that's why I love Christmas so much.  I worked really hard this year to make sure that Gavin knew that Christmas is not about getting gifts.  Rather, one of the most important parts about Christmas is sharing love with each other, and one of the ways we can do that is by getting something special for someone we love.  Is there anything more special than something unique, home-made, and totally awesome?

Happy Birthday Buddy!! (For Real.)

Long time no blog!  With the holidays and with Gavin's birthday, which we celebrated last week, life has been really busy.  Holy man Christmas is crazy when you have more than one kid!!  All you moms with more than two kids, you have my total respect.  And by the way, how the hell do you do it every year!?!?

Anyway.

Last week we celebrated Gavin's actual birthday.  (Don't worry, I still have a million of posts about his party up my sleeve.)  I really wanted to make him a special cake for his birthday, and with all the holiday madness, the evening before his birthday I still didn't really know what I was doing.  And then I pulled this little gem out of thin air!

Brewers Birthday Goodies Part 2: Themed Out Crayons!

When I saw this idea by the FABULOUS Jill of Homemade by Jill, I knew that I had to somehow make it a part of Gavin's birthday party.  In my wildest dreams I am almost as amazing as Jill.  This woman can do it all, and she does.  There is a small part of me that worries that my whole blog will become an echo of hers as I want to make everything she posts and repost it here.  Maybe I will create a new blog.  A, "Look What Jill Made Now!!" blog . . . okay, now I sound like a stalker . . .

Anyway.  Crayons!

Brewers Birthday Goodies Part 1 of 742: Gavin's Greatest Hits

I will be the first to admit that I have a problem with themeing to the extreme.  Or Extreme Theme Disorder (ETD) if you will.  This became very clear at Gavin's Brewer's Birthday Extravaganza (once you start going super over board on themes all of your events will be known as "extravaganzas" rather than parties).  My ETD was perhaps most evident when it came to the goodie bags for the kids (and given that the goodie bags are going to take approximately 742 posts, I think you will agree).  Let's take a peek, shall we?

Brewers Birthday Party!

This year to celebrate Gavin's fourth birthday, we decided to go Old School Brewers!  This summer Gavin went to his very first Brewers game (really, shame on us for not doing it sooner), and he had a BLAST!

His absolute favorite part of the game was the sausage race, so this for sure had to be a part of the party!  (More on that later . . . you know I'm going to make like 80 posts about his birthday party and totally suck that subject dry.)

But what I will show you in this post is the CAKE!

Jolly Rancher Vodka

I promise to soon put up the gazillion pictures from Gavin's Brewers Birthday Party as well as the How Tos on the gazillions of things I did for it. (It was totally worth it, but I must admit, I'm a little beat.)  Until then, I thought you might enjoy some . . .

Birthday Retrospective Part 3: Choo Choo!!

Year three was trains.  Trains. Trains. Trains.  And truth be told, Gavin really wanted trains again this year.  But let's be honest about who these birthday parties are really about.  Me.  And I wanted to do something different . . . but that's a whole other post.  Back to the train obsession.
