Gavin's Goodnight Song and the Etsy Shop
When Gavin was a really little baby, he didn't so much like the sleeping. Like at all.
And being the new and naive parents that we were, we did a myriad of things that made the situation worse rather than better.
But! One of the things we did right was in making up a goodnight song for Gavin.

Recording Memories {An Idea from a Lazy Mom}

I'm crap at baby books.
And scrap books.
And photo books.
Really any books of any kind that may at some point in the future give my kids some sense of how they were as babies and how I was as a mom. Crap.

Just One of Those Days
It was just one of those days around the Wine & Glue house.
One moment we were all giggles and laughter while trying to interfere in a photo opt for the blog.

Halloween T-Shirt Wreath

I must admit . . . I'm a novice when it comes to holiday decorating. (I blame my mother. When in doubt, blame your mother . . . though that's probably going to come back to bite me . . . ) Unless it's Christmas, I've just never been real big on decorating for holidays.

Homemade Halloween Games
Gavin has seven cousins on his dad's side of the family. Seven! That's a lot of cousins, a lot of laughter, a lot of playing, and a lot of fun. It's also a lot of birthdays! A few years ago, my very wise sister-in-laws decided to group the birthdays together into fall and spring. It makes for two big shared birthday parties each year.
Last year, the wise sister-in-laws struck again and decided to have the fall birthday party Halloween themed and have all the kids come in their costumes. So fun!!
So this year we are doing it again, and this time it's at my house. I thought it would be a lot of fun to have games the kids could play, but I didn't really want to spend a fortune for the prepackaged games that come from Target, especially when most of them seemed simple enough to make at home.

Homemade Lego Costume
This costume is so ridiculously cheap and simple, that I must admit I am a little ashamed to post it on my blog. But . . . I'm a wannabe crafty mom, so it's okay, right?

Drunkin' Pumpkin Candy Shake

I feel really comfortable blaming this whole post on Dorothy. I mean, it was her who first convinced me that I needed these. (Actually, she can take credit for the name too!)

Meatless Mondays #7 {Butternut Squash Chili}

I love fall. I love the way the air becomes cool and crisp. I love the smell of fall. And the sounds, all crunchy. But even more, I love how fall tastes!
Pumpkins, apples, warm cozy comfort food.
And Butternut Squash. There is so much that you can do with Butternut Squash, and a vegetable that can run you over $5 in the off season because of how heavy it is, is suddenly only like $1.50 this time of year! Especially if you buy them at local farmer's markets. I got the squash I used for this batch when we went apple picking with the kids and it was so ginormous that I only used half! That's $0.75 worth of squash people.
