It's Friday! Cheers!!
Let's recap the week, shall we? Do you want the Highlight Reel?
Gavin nearly broke his arm because I was letting him ride his scooter in the house. When I told him ixnay on the ooterscay this morning, he started bawling. He said, "I understand it's a bad idea, but I'm still so sad!!" Such a wise young soul.
Quinn started saying, "Guppy!" for yes. I adore it. I actually have asked her to say it about three million times a day since she started. "Quinn? Can you say 'Guppy'??" "Guppy!" Okay. Typed out it's not as cute.
Friday I finished up my continuing education credits for the last two year period! Woo hoo!! It was a six hour course on the law. Oh sweet heavens. I had forgotten what it is to be bored. Boredom, in case you have forgotten as well, is being trapped in the basement ball room of a mediocre hotel with coffee cups the size of thimbles and NO INTERNET ACCESS on my phone. You feel my pain now too, don't you??
I also managed to swing a few blog posts.
There was the Black Apple Doll
The Doorway Castle
And my St. Patty's Printable
And finally, its time for the second installation of Amy's self-portrait challenge!
Her assignment for February was a reflection.
It is fair to say that it was a flop for me.
Although I do love the effect of the double reflection.
And as I mentioned in my post last month, my main reason for doing this challenge is the loss of my mom, who I don't have nearly enough pictures of. But I do have that tea set. Which was a perfect gift given to her, with scenes of gardening, her passion.
So even though the reflection theme was a flop for me, I have been working on being in more pictures.
This is me: grumpy and wearing Nathan's hat because I'm too cold to take it off, snuggling Quinn (hmmmm . . . where did she learn to make that face??), wearing Gavin's Valentine's glasses, playing outside in the snow with Nathan (and pretending we are young), snuggling with Gavin on the couch, drinking a virgin bloody mary, being silly with Gavin, responding to Nathan's text (him: "What are you doing right now?" me: "Torturing myself {aka working out}"), and sending more emotional blackmail to Nathan.
Do you take enough pictures of yourself?

I really want to add the high pony picture of you..... :) Uh oh on the scooter - bad idea (?)
ReplyDeleteHey now. Let's not forget you are in that high pony picture . . . :)
DeleteGuppy! I love that. My daughters say really silly, nonsense words. A couple months ago, after supper, they started say, "bips and bops," on repeat. Now it's a regular post-meal thing. I can't get enough.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of you, especially with the glasses on. When your kids are older, they will most definitely appreciate being able to look back, not only at pictures of you with them, but of pictures of you being a person. I need to get in front of the camera much more often.
Pictures of me being a person, what a novel idea! No, seriously though. I love the pictures of my parents being people rather than parents. It makes me appreciate them that much more.
DeleteLisa, I am always guaranteed to smile when I visited your blog. I am still in awe over your doorway castle. I love that your reflection picture had your mom's garden tea set that she had left to you. What a beautiful and meaningful reflection. BUT, what I am most impressed with, is that you shared all your pictures from the past month. What great memories you created and captured. The picture of you and your husband is so sweet, it's obvious you have a marriage filled with love. The picture of you with the Gavin's heart glasses ADORABLE. Quinn giving the same face that you have been known to make is priceless. What great moments you have of the last month. Thanks for participating again this month.
ReplyDeleteAwww, Amy, this is one of the nicest comments I've ever gotten on my blog. My husband was watching me put together the collage of the pictures of me and was surprised with how many embarrassing ones I was picking, lol! But, that is the real Lisa. I'm so grateful you started this challenge!
DeleteIt's totally cute written out. I still do that to Jordan all the time, although she gets it now. I'll say, "what did you call that honey?" and instead of saying it again, she says "what was it supposed to be?"
ReplyDeleteI miss yew-bras and mow-lawns! ;)
Have a great weekend Lisa!
I don't take enough of myself - I am trying to remember more. The reflection didn't seem like a total flop to me at all!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Jess. The only reason I have so many of myself is because I am constantly texting my husband and best friend (who lives far away) with shots of "this is what I am doing right now" lol
DeleteI should consider doing this for my kids. I never thought that they might want pictures of me someday. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLol! I know, right? Go figure, it's such a novel thought, that we are actual people who have loved ones who might want to look at pictures of us someday :)
