Copycat Shamrock Shake! | The delicious Shamrock Shake, made super easy at home!
Did you have a good Valentine’s Day??
We celebrated by watching my brother in law get married!
Are you ready to ditch the red and the pink and go green?? Good! Me too!
Nathan isn’t a big chocolate lover. His taste in desserts is varied, but he does tend to love things mint! My Mint Oreo Bark is one of his favorites and the dessert he asks for without fail at Christmas cookie making time. Where I would love a nice hot fudge sundae, Nathan would much rather have a mint Oreo shake.
So this time of year, one of his favorite things is the Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s! This year I decided to make them at home. Which is kind of nice because it saves money, but it also means that you have a little more control over portion size and ingredients. I made this with a lighter ice cream, which means less milk. But I suggest that you kind of just add the milk slowly until you get the consistency you want. Also, this recipe says that it is for two servings, but it makes A TON. I would think it would be much better for a family of four or five as an after dinner dessert.
This recipe is pretty much all over the internet, but this is the one I went off of.
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp mint extract (not peppermint)
- 8 drops green food coloring
- Put the ice cream, food color, and mint extract in a blender. Add about a half a cup of milk, and begin blending, adding more milk until you get the desired consistency.
