I’m writing this ahead of time, because today Quinn is having her adenoids and tonsils removed.
And even though we have been through this before with Gavin, and everything worked out totally fine and the procedure went really smooth, I am so nervous just thinking about sitting in the waiting room.
The last time I sat in a waiting room, Elliot was having surgery. And things did not turn out fine.
Obviously, I understand that the two procedures, the two kids, the two situations could not be more different. But that doesn’t make it any less anxiety producing.
So if you are someone who prays, say a little prayer for Quinn today, please. And say a little prayer for my sanity.
And if you aren’t someone who prays, please just think some happy thoughts for us today. We could use them.
In preparation for Quinn’s post surgery state, I prepped this little smoothie. She can’t have things with dark colors or red, we would hate for her to spit up cherry jello and assume that her surgical scars are ripping open. So I made this very pale colored smoothie that is super delicious.
I used some frozen mango chunks, because I like to keep those in my freezer (I get my by the bag from Trader Joes) and I love the pineapple and coconut flavor with the mango. It’s very tropical.
I was leery as to whether or not Quinn would like it, because she doesn’t really like anything new. But I told her it was a treat! She said, “A treat? I LOVE treats!!” So she tried it and she really liked it. Hooray!
Here’s hoping that the surgery and post surgery goes just as a smooth.
