I think over Christmas break, Piper had another leap in language development, but I was either too tired to notice, or there was too much talking from the other kids going on. And now that they are back at school, it’s like this little person is home with me! This little person who has full on conversations with me. It’s crazy!
“Whatch you making Mama?”
“Lunch, I’m going to have a salad!”
“Oh! You have salad, Mama? You hungry, Mama? Why you hungry, Mama?”
“Ooooo, Piper! You need a diaper change! Could you get me a diaper and some wipes and I’ll change you?”
“Sure, honey!” <——– Seriously the cutest thing ever.
“Piper. Eat your broccoli”
“NOOOOOOO!!!! It’s too tasty!!!!”
**20 minutes of negotiations later**
“Mmmm, like broccoli!”
“That’s, great, Piper! Gavin likes broccoli too!”
“REALLY!?!?” <—— I lied before. That is the cutest thing ever.
And you guys, this was all just on Wednesday! Seriously, it’s so fun. I know there is going to be a point when her non stop chatter makes me bananas (i.e. Quinn, The Nonstop Talking Wonder of the Midwest), but right now I am looooooving it. Her intonations are the best. Her shock and awe in her voice when she says “REALLY??!?” . . . . I just want to bottle it.
Chocolate Energy Bites for Snacks
Okay, as if Piper needs more energy . . . here are these Chocolate Energy Bites! I love these for kids because while they taste like a treat, they are loaded with peanut butter, oats, and agave. There is a little bit of cocoa powder in there to give it a great chocolate flavor and a few chocolate chips, that if you want to cut some sugar, you could take out! It seriously tastes like a cookie. So perfect for Piper!

Chocolate Energy Bites
- 2 cups quick cooking oats
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3 TBSPs agave nectar
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- Mix together all of the ingredients until fully combined.
- Using a 1 1/2 TBSP cookies scoop, make one inch balls, roll and store in an airtight container.
